Ario Nahavandi is a British-Iranian multidisciplinary artist whose work spans music, poetry, acting, and product design. Born in 1996 and raised across countries including Iran, Armenia, Denmark, Saudi Arabia, China, Finland, and the UK, Ario’s perspective is shaped by cultural movement, emotional depth, and a strong connection to social realities.
His music draws from both Persian heritage and contemporary global sounds. Often exploring identity, personal struggle, and societal tension, Ario’s lyrics are reflective, poetic, and unapologetically human. In 2023, amidst rising tensions and conflict between Iran and Israel, he released Bella Ciao (Iran) a Persian-language adaptation of the historic protest song as a tribute to resilience and resistance.
Ario’s discography also includes tracks like Khoshe Haye Dard (addressing mental health and emotional fatigue) and Lan Tarani (inspired by Rumi’s mystical poetry), each grounded in a desire to connect tradition with present-day urgency.
Alongside music, Ario’s poetry focuses on themes of change, loss, introspection, and social stagnation. His poems, such as Surreal and The Upside-Down Bowls, often use abstract metaphors to reflect complex emotional and societal conditions, resonating with readers on a personal level.
In recent years, Ario has also entered the world of acting, taking part in select projects and performances as he expands his storytelling into visual media.
Beyond the arts, Ario is developing a practice in product design. He has created conceptual objects that explore sensory interaction, emotion-driven design, and user experience. For him, design like music and poetry is another language for connection.
Through his layered body of work, Ario Nahavandi continues to explore the intersections between self, culture, and society. His voice is distinct, thoughtful, and rooted in lived experience—not seeking attention, but expression.
